Executive Management

Parth Desai, Founder & CEO
Parth Desai graduated from Georgia Tech with a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence and was quickly hired to work with one of the most celebrated global pioneers of Artificial Intelligence , Roger Schank. Parth rapidly built a deep expertise in AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP) that has driven his own ability to innovate over the past two decades. During that time, Parth built a global team and nurtured their collective AI expertise. 

 

 
Working collaboratively within the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance domain for Banks and Corporates, Parth has built a thorough understanding of the Payments, Securities, Anti Money Laundering and Risk Management from both the business and technology viewpoints. As Founder &CEO, Parth works closely with his global team to deliver consistent innovation and client value that continues to underpin their long-term client relationships.
Bill North, Head of Global Sales
As Head of Global Sales, Bill North oversees overall coordination, functional management and leadership of sales initiatives for Pelican. Primary responsibilities include development and execution of sales strategies, key account management, and management of the global sales team. Bill works in collaboration with the global marketing team to identify and develop marketing initiatives and new customer service opportunities. Bill joined Pelican in 2013, where he firstly led Pelican’s efforts in penetrating the corporate payments market in North America.

Prior to joining Pelican, Bill held senior sales roles at SunGard, IT2, and Wall Street Systems. He has over 20 years’ experience working with corporates and banks across the globe in leveraging technology to optimize treasury and payment processes. Bill holds a B.S. from the University of Houston.
Tristan Blampied, Head of Product
Tristan Blampied is responsible for product strategy, development and road-map for the Pelican solution. Previously, Tristan managed the leading bank fintech partnership outsourcing product for the FI and NBFI sectors.

Tristan has over 15 years' experience in providing innovative payments, cash management and financial technology solutions to global Corporates and Banks. Tristan holds a certification in International Cash Management from the Association of Corporate Treasurers, is a PRINCE2 practitioner and has achieved numerous official SWIFT and compliance accreditations.
Turid Borsheim, Head of Finance
Turid is responsible for managing financial activities for the companies within the Pelican group and provide management with financial insight for the group as a whole. Turid has a Bsc in Economics and Business Administration as well as an Msc in Management Accounting and Financial Planning, both from the Copenhagen Business School. She joined Pelican in 2004 and prior to that spent fifteen years in financial roles at Elf/Total, Metropolis Publishing & American Express.
Rajiv Desai, Head of US Operations & Sales
Rajiv Desai is responsible for sales, support and account management for Pelican in North America. Over the past 30 years, Rajiv has held several senior leadership positions with global corporations and Banks in North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Australia.

Rajiv has accumulated broad experience in physical and financial supply chain with a primary focus in payments and sanctions. Blending a deep understanding of AI technology with pragmatic business perspective, Rajiv is able to offer practical and impactful solutions for Banks and Corporates. Rajiv holds a degree in Computer Science and Chemical Engineering.
Samir Dharia, CISO & Head of Ops (India)
A senior manager in IT industry with a decade of American experience and another decade of offshore delivery experience with thorough knowledge of the entire SDLC, Information Security Management System (ISMS), Program Management and other administrative functions.

As CISO, Samir is responsible to ensure that ISMS at all Pelican locations (worldwide) conforms to the requirements of ISO 27001 - 2013. Samir is also responsible for System Operations, Support, Information Technology, HR/Admin and Compliance and Audit/Legal functions for Pelican India.
Saumitra Naik, Head of Global Delivery
Saumitra Naik has over 19 years of in-depth experience in people, process and project management. Managing people, implementing processes, executing projects, mitigating delivery risks are his forte. Saumitra leads the global delivery organization and is also responsible for transformational initiatives within the organization. He manages the implementation and delivery of client and internal projects, ensures efficient delivery operations while maintaining a good balance between client needs and organization profitability.
Ketan Shah, Head of Technology
With over 21 years experience in software design, development, testing & implementation, Ketan Shah has an in-depth understanding of various technologies used for building Pelican Platform and its overall architecture. As a part of his role, Ketan makes sure that the enhancements in Pelican adopts the use of latest technologies and seamlessly integrates with the Pelican architecture ensuring that the Pelican Platform continues to be robust, scalable and delivers high performance.
Mahesh Patankar, Head of Global Pre-sales & Director of Business Development (APAC)
As Global Head - Pre-sales and Director of Business Development - APAC, Mahesh represents the firm as the trusted adviser to clients when it relates to business functions, domain knowledge, Industry landscape, industry process expertise, and technology solutions. He is a customer-centric professional focused on providing customers with innovative technology solutions.

Mahesh joined Pelican in 1997 and has overall experience of 22 years in providing mission critical solutions in transaction banking, Payment processing, whole-sale banking, Sanctions compliance, Anti money laundering, Fraud, Corporate banking, Corporate Payment and Cash management. Mahesh has worked with global organizations like Wells Fargo, State Street, Standard Chartered, American Express, Wachovia, TD Bank, MUFG-UB, RBC, Credit Agricole, BNPP, Rabo, ING, CommerzBank, State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, CommonWealth bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial bank, National Bank of Abu Dhabi, First Gulf Bank, Al Mulla.

Alain Falys
Alain is the co-founder & CEO of Yoyo Wallet, the mobile-first personalised marketplace powered by transaction data. Founded in 2013, Yoyo is now the UK’s largest multi-retailer mobile wallet and received KPMG’s Global Fintech 100 award. Previously, Alain was Senior Vice President at Visa International. In 2000, Alain co-founded and ran OB10, the global e-invoicing network, which floated in London as Tungsten.

Alain is a founding Partner of seed investment platform Firestartr and co-founder of Omnis Mundi, an e-commerce incubator with successful startups such as BuyVip which was sold to Amazon in 2010. Alain holds the Diplôme d’Etudes Supérieures Européennes de Management from the NEOMA Business School and a BA Honours degree in European Business Administration from the Middlesex University, London.
John Quamina
John leads Wipro’s payments practice with currently over 4000 professionals deployed on payments engagements globally. With over 25 years experience in selling and managing the delivery of complex business solutions for the financial services sector across: retail, wholesale, investment management, capital markets and its articulating industry infrastructure. He has deep domain knowledge in areas including international payments, cash management, trade services, financial supply chain management and cards (acquiring and issuing), all gained from his close involvement in numerous client engagements of both strategic business and technology change programmes.

John has been supporting several financial institutions on their move to faster payments in the UK, Europe, Asia PAC, the Middle East and North America. In doing so, he has accumulated a wealth of knowledge on the required transformation at a National Infrastructure and Bank level.John is also the principal of QFS Consulting, a strategic consulting business focused on SME and Mass Affluent Banking. Previously, John was a Partner in Capco, leading Transaction Banking, and the leader of IBM's European Payments team
Clare Walsh
Clare Walsh is a founder of Metia with over 30 years’ experience in the financial technology sector. Clare has developed deep relationships with many key influencers within the industry, including journalists, analysts, vendors and market participants. Prior to leaving Metia,Clare ran the group’s Global Influence teams and took a leading role in its business development activities.

Clare was head of European Marketing Communications for Digital Equipment Company’s specialist financial services practice where she developed market-leading financial services campaigns for 17 participating digital offices throughout Europe. Before that, Clare spent nearly seven years as head of Marketing & PR at Arbat, one of the early providers of wholesale banking solutions. Since retirement, Clare has provided business advisory and mentoring services to a number of financial technology firms.
